n-tv: Facebook's Internet currency as a payment system?
What does Facebook need to become a real state? Money, of course! Because I was there for a presentation at Gamescom, n-tv asked me at Facebook's booth about their ambitions in the field of Internet currencies.
Facebook's internet currency
In the interview, I talk to Frauke Holzmeier about the impact of Facebook's planned Internet currency in relation to the games industry. Internet currency is particularly suitable for transactions within video games because they usually involve very small amounts for equipment or outfits. Especially in the area of these microtransactions, Internet currencies are superior because of the low transaction costs.
For Facebook, of course, an Internet currency is also an opportunity to improve its image. Libra is planned in cooperation with renowned partners such as Mastercard, Visa and Paypal. If something goes wrong with Libra, Facebook can say it wasn't me, it was all of us together. And these partners would not risk their reputation for a small manipulation gain. That's what makes the system so secure.

But how does the traffic light work? Strictly speaking, it is not controlled by artificial intelligence, according to Christoph Holz, one of Europe's leading AI experts.
