Nomination for the State Prize for Digitisation
The State Prize Digital Solutions 2017 of the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy rewards outstanding digital products, services and applications. With our startup visalyze, we were among the top 8 nominees.
State Prize Digital Solutions 2017
In 2017, the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy awarded the State Prize Digital Solutions for the first time as a contemporary new edition of the State Prize Multimedia and e-Business, the highest award for outstanding digital products, services and applications. This is the 17th time that a state prize has been awarded in this field, this time also in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce. As the most important benchmark of the domestic digital economy and IT sector, the State Prize has been announced since 1997 and awarded every two years since 2009.
An independent jury of experts awards outstanding innovative productions with the State, Innovation and Promotion Prize. The State Prize Digital Solutions honours innovative digital productions by individual producers and companies and gives them visibility: It demonstrates the innovative potential of the digital sector and thus also emphasises Austria's trend-setting importance as a location for innovation and technology. So we were all the more delighted when we learned that we had been nominated for the State Prize. In this video I present our project "Austria's Next President".
The entire spectrum of services in the digital sector
In contrast to previous years, the 2017 competition was open to all topics. There was a conscious decision not to have fixed categories, so that the entire spectrum of services in the digital sector was covered. The spectrum ranged from applications from the field of digital cultural heritage to games, e-mobility, e-government, e-health, e-commerce, cloud-based enterprise services and FinTech solutions. There were thus no thematic limits to innovative digital tools, platforms and applications.
Producers and user companies of digital products, services and applications that have already been launched on the market are invited to submit entries for the National Award. The jury then nominates up to ten projects for the National Award and selects the National Award winners from the nominations. Please note that only finished products and projects can be submitted and that production or market launch must have already taken place.
The award
The award-winning productions were presented at the festive event on E-Day:17 at the Chamber of Commerce. For the production awarded the State Prize, the producers received a State Prize certificate signed by the Federal Minister of Science, Research and Economy, a trophy specially designed for the State Prize Digital Solutions as well as the "State Prize Label", which may be used in unchanged form for advertising purposes. The nominees each received a certificate signed by the Federal Minister.
